Irvine, Calif. (Sept. 09, 2005) – Geotest-Marvin Test Systems, Inc. (Irvine, Calif.), a Marvin Group Company, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the United States Air Force for the purchase of 26 MTS-206 Maverick Missile field test sets.
The MTS-206 is an ultra-rugged, portable PXI-based test set for the Maverick missile system with built-in support for all Maverick components. With the MTS-206, Maverick users can easily and effectively test all versions of the AGM-65 missiles, missile sections, launchers, and missile-launcher clusters. The MTS-206 automatically logs all parametric test results and maintains an electronic log of all assemblies tested. This log provides invaluable information for trend analysis.
“The MTS-206 is yet another proof that PXI is now a mainstream platform for military applications,” said Loofie Gutterman, president of Geotest. “Even for demanding environmental conditions as those required by the MTS-206, PXI performs exceptionally well while reducing system weight, size, and cost.”
Featuring a simplified menu-driven design, the MTS-206 minimizes required training and provides for quick selection of the unit under test by type and automatically configures the MTS-206 for testing. For seeker slewing and boresighting, the MTS-206 utilizes a virtual joystick that reduces operating time and learning curve. The MTS-206 is based on Geotest’s MTS-207 Ultra-Rugged PXI product, which serves as a general-purpose platform for field and flight line applications.
